Pumpkin Carving 2009

It's been a looooonnngg time since my last post, I haven't stopped crafting, but it has been less often than I would like. My neighbours and I got together this year for a pizza party with some pumpking carving for Halloween and this is what we came up with.

So the girl who always asks me for the difficult cards recently asked me for a vampire card. I tried and tried and couldn't come up with anything. I saw her again and she suggested the hands and apple from Twilight. I wasn't sure I could do it, but my friend Kim brought her A game and drew the hands and apple on water colour paper. I used an aqua painter and ink to colour it. We did the apple a second time, layered it with Crystal Effects and popped it up on a dimensional. The red back ground is double embossed with the So Swirly roller from SU, first with clear, then over again with black. Hope the person like it, we love it!!!

A thank-you card for a website client of my boyfriend's. I love this technique with versamark and chalk!!!

Welcome Baby Ava!

A wonderful hippo waterfall card to welcome my friend Carrie's (and Jamie's) new baby, Ava!

I made this birthday card for my friend Stacey using Sassy Suzie from SU. The inside says 'we're such good friends because surprisingly, you're not intimidated by my beauty'. I also made the box and 3x3 card set as a gift for her. I really enjoyed this and I hope she likes it too!

I made this card using the Cricut Wildcard Cartridge for the black outline of the bride and groom. I glued this onto white cardstock and cut it out again. I used glue to add the Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the ground. SU Baroque Motifs set was used for the background.

So my friend asked me for a card for a UFC fighter using boxing gloves and this is what I came up with. There was no help from cricut on this one for the actual gloves, I googled an image and then copied the best I could. I used the crinkle paper technique by wetting the cardstock and crumpling it, I then went over it with a few swipes of chocolate chip ink. I hope she likes it!

So I've made a few cards lately that I have forgotten to take pictures of. I'm going to a surpise party tomorrow night and this is the birthday card I made for her. I love Mermaid Anya and this was my first time inking up this stamp. I used tons of stickles, twinkling H20s, and I cut the waves with my cricut. The thread is iridescent twine tied to eyelets. I hope you like it, I do!!!

Convocation Card

So my sister's best friend (whose been kind of a sister for me) is convocating this week. My sister requested a card for her and this is what I arrived at. I just love this card!!! I used my Wildcard Cricut Cartridge to cut the grad cap and made the hanging thing with some gold cord. I used the SU Alphabet roller clear embossed on the Really Rust paper behind the Grad Cap. I layered that on some textured dp in Always Artichoke and added the rhinestone brads and purple/copper ribbon. The Grad Cap opens to say "If at first you do succeed, try not to look astonished!". This is all on a 5x5 Elegant Eggplant card. The inside layers the same colours and says Congratulations in black embossing. This is one of those cards that just came together and I am really happy with it!

Gemini Card

So about a month ago, I got a request for a card for a Gemini. I pondered and pondered and went through my stamp sets several times. My Cricut cartridges were no help on this one. Finally, after reading about Gemini, I learned some of the characteristics. One of them was a clear two sides to the personality so that's were I went with this card. I coloured the Angel Anya from The Greeting Farm split, as two people. I used my aqua painter with the inks and added some Twinkling H20s. I used Dazzling Diamonds on the wings and some stickles on the Halo. The Kiwi Kiss behind her is the accent colour. I used a Friendship Wheel embossed with Iridescent Ice on this piece. The little flower is from Fresh Cuts, Clear Embossed with a brad added from Basic Grey's Porcelain Collection. The sentiment is from a general word set I got at Michael's. The front printed paper is also from the Porcelain Collection while the inside printed paper is from a Costco collection. I hope you like her!

This is a gift holder card I made for my friend's bridal shower. I used my 'Wildcard' Cricut cartridge for the bottle of champagne, rings and the envelope. I silver embossed the rings and added some stickles for the diamond. The saying is from SU and is silver embossed. The paper is Basic Grey. The inside has some Basic Grey brads and some ribbons. Hope you like it!

Mother's Day 2009

I made my first money holder card for Mother's Day this year. Mother's Day is easy because we get our mom money for her flower bed plants every year!! That's why the little chef is holding a tray of flowers. Hope you like it.

Healing Card

So we just found out my 17 year old cousin has been diagnosed with Hodgin's Lymphoma. The good news is that it has an amazing cure rate and we know he's going to make it through. The bad news is, of course, rounds of chemo. I made this bandaid card using my Cricut and my new Wildcard cartridge. I hope he likes it!! Boys are waaaaaay more difficult to card-make for!
